Following a sting of successful musical productions, Spiteri Lucas Entertainment made its debut in the prestigious Malta Arts Festival, and in collaboration with the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, presented yet another spectacular live show featuring some of the most memorable tunes from the 50s and 60s, regarded by many as the Golden Age of Pop Music.
The Legends of Music a live, animated and entertaining show featured hits by some of the greatest legends ever to grace the history of Pop music. It was one of the most spectacular shows during the 2007 edition of Malta's Arts Festival.
The strong repertoire included songs by legendary artists, both from the past and the present such as Edith Piaf, Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, Connie Francis, crooning myth, Frank Sinatra, Ike & Tina Turner, Tom Jones, John Denver, Neil Diamond, Country and Western golden voice Tammy Wynette, The Beatles, The Monkees, Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), The Blues Brothers, Madonna, Queen, Celine Dion as well as the soulful voices of James Brown, Wilson Pickett and The Temptations. There was also room for a couple of Italian greats like Gianni Morandi and the unforgettable Lucio Battisti.
Hit numbers like "Always on my Mind", "Suspicious Minds", "The Young Ones", "New York New York", "River Deep Mountain High", "Proud Mary", "Annie's Song", "Not Unusual", "Stand by your Man", "Material Girl", "I Feel Good", "In the Midnight Hour" and "My Girl", just to mention a few featured prominently in this production.
Some of Malta's top performers such as Debbie Scerri, Glen Vella, Natasha and Charlene Grima, Ivan Spiteri Lucas, Triccas, Nadine Axisa, Ludwig Galea as well as teenage idol, Klinsmann, starred in the The Legends of Music. Other performers included Adie, Julia Grima, Sandro Cassar and Christine Haber.
All artists were accomopanied by a live seven piece band under the direction of popular musician and singer Mark Spiteri Lucas, while Celaine Buhagiar and her Dancel Dancers provided some extra spectacle with their colourful choreographies. The other musicians in the show were: Jesmond Baldacchino (drums), Joe M. Vella (Bass), Fabio Caligari (lead guitar), Adrian Brincat (trumpet), Joe Muscat (saxophone) and Kurt Spiteri Lucas (keyboards).
